We came across a blog about, well, blogs and enjoyed reading about 7 Beginner Blogger Blunders and How to Avoid Them. Hey were doing pretty good at avoiding blunders, so far. Here is a list of the 7 blunders and how were doing:

  1. Never actually launching it: Okay, were good here. However, weve been working on launching another blog for a couple of months now. But plan on launching at the end of January. It will be a lot of fun.
  2. Using a sub-domain (ex: myblog.typepad.com):  Were good here too.
  3. Spending too much time on design: Okay, we didnt do so hot here. But, we were learning about how WordPress worked and went through several designs before we settled on this one, which is pretty basic. Our other blog will benefit from what we have learned.
  4. Not telling anyone about it: We sent an e-mail out. Did you get one? If not, you werent on our friends and family list. Our bad. Well get better at this.
  5. Getting discouraged too early: Actually, were having fun doing this and not discouraged at all. Now, our upcoming blog will be designed to make money and be interactive, so were hoping to create a lot of traffic on that one. Hopefully, we wont be too discouraged.
  6. Too many blidgets: Huh? Okay, we dont have a lot of toys on this site. But our next one will have audio and other fun stuff.
  7. Monetizing too early: Were not trying to monetize this blog right now. Thats for the upcoming blog. However, if you would like to purchase a candle or skincare products from us, feel free to do so.
  8. Not bad for newbies. Let us know what you think or if you have any questions. As we learn more, well share what we discover with you.
