“To fly as fast as thought, to anywhere that is,” he said,”you must begin by knowing that you have already arrived…”
~Jonathon Livingston Seagull
Last Sunday, we saw another sunrise at Mickler’s Landing. Mickler’s is pretty convenient to where we live, just a 20 minute car ride. So, it’s a beach we can hop to easily in the morning. It’s also easy to meet up with friends, which is what we did this Sunday. Devin, Kathy and Megan joined us for the sunrise and breakfast outing. As sunrises go, it was pretty basic, with no clouds in the sky.
Clouds really make each sunrise unique. Too much and, of course, there’s no view of the sunrise. Too little, then there’s no color. Just the right amount, and you’ve got a painting in the sky.
So, last Sunday the canvas in the sky just wasn’t right. Fortunately, the birds were out in force. We shot a number of photos of birds as they flew across the ocean and in front of the rising sun. And that’s today’s sunrise image. Two gulls captured in midair just below the sun. Being in the moment. Enjoying the delights of flight.
